Enable Windows Aero in Windows which don’t support Aero with AeroEnabler (Download)

A freeware program called Aero Enabler which allows you to enable aero in those windows versions including Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, Vista Home Basic and all other versions which may have aero but it might be disabled due to any reason.

Aero is normally not available in Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows 7 Home Basic. Furthermore there is an internal Hardware Check which only allows you to run Aero if passed. This tool can enable Aero for you and additionally disable the Hardware Check if required!

Please Note: This tool changes some registry settings and there might be problems if your computer does not meet Aero’s system requirements.

Create A Universal Windows 7 DVD

We all know Windows 7 has been released with variations in features as different versions like Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate. It could be great if we can install all these versions of windows 7 from a Universal DVD but microsoft has reverted back to need to use a separate disk for each version, each DVD is a small 51 byte configuration file called ei.cfg which tells the installer what version disc it is.

The ei.cfg Removal Utility is a simple tool that will remove the ei.cfg from any Windows 7 ISO disc image, thereby converting the image into a “universal disc” that will prompt the user to select an windows 7 edition to install during setup.

What Does This Tool Do ?

This tool works by toggling the deletion bit in the UDF file table, eliminating the need for unpacking and rebuilding the ISO, which means that this is extremely fast (the process of patching the ISO to remove ei.cfg takes only a fraction of a second), and the process is easily reversible (running the utility on a disc image patched by this utility will restore the disc image to its original state).

The following tutorial will enable you to move your downloaded Youtube videos on your iPhone to the camera roll app. This will give you complete video editing capabilities of iPhone 3GS with which you can trim and share your downloaded videos on your iPhone, and then sync them with your PC or Mac. You can also make it work with your iPhone 2G, 3G and iPod touch on How-to: Enable iPhone 3GS Video Editing and Camera Roll in iPhone 3G, 2G and iPod touch before following the guide posted below.

Step 1: You will first need to jailbreak your iPhone or iPod touch to get this to work.

Step 2: There are tons of apps available on the iPhone for downloading Youtube videos.

Step 3: You will now have to install SBSettings and Video Mover app from Cydia. SBSettings can be found in BigBoss repo, while Video Mover app can be found in http://apt.macosmovil.com repository.

Step 4: Now simply start SBSettings by swiping on the status bar on the top and enable “Video Mover” as shown in screenshot below.

That’s it! Now go to your Camera Roll in Photos app and you should now have all the downloaded Youtube videos in your Camera Roll. You can now trim the videos, share them with your friends via email, and can sync them with your PC or Mac.

Easiest Way To Access & Use New Google Search Interface

Google has just revamped its search interface with new look and feel, and it is much faster and intelligent when it comes to searching. I have recently read some client side JavaScript which you will need to paste in address bar to access this new google search interface.

But there is a easier way to access and use this new google search interface, you just need to enter search terms in firefox address bar and press enter to see the results in new google search interface.

How To Stop a Not Responding Program in Windows 7

Its been only a week since I moved my self completely from vista to windows 7, I am respecting my decision now and thinking I should have moved much earlier, the best thing I can see with windows 7 the improved and enhanced speed of the windows components.

But still windows 7 need some more improvement in handling the hanged applications, how ever till now there is only one instance when I found one application got hanged and not responding in windows 7 and the program that got hanged was none other than windows media player. When windows media player got hanged I tired to terminate it through task manager but it did not worked.

But then I tried process explorer which worked perfectly fine on windows 7 and terminated windows media player process. For all those who don’t know what is process explorer you can read a detailed article here.

Process Explorer is separate task manager which work with all windows operating system till windows 7, you can terminate the hanged processes with this free to tool for windows. [ as shown in the image below ]

So if you are unable to terminate a hanged process in windows 7, you can try process explorer.

Stop The Annoying Narrator Sound in Mac OS

The narrator can be really annoying once it is switched on accidently in Mac OS, as it happened with me when I accidently pressed Command+F5 which switchedvoice over ON in mac os. I was really annoyed with this voice over as the robotic sound keeps saying whatever I do on mac, and it does not even stop when I restarted mac os many times but it does not helped.

If you are facing the same problem, here is how you can switch off the voice over quickly by pressing the key Command+F5 as shown in the screen shot above or else navigate to the System Preferences >> Universal Access >> Voiceover Off to switch it off.

This small little tip could be helpful to many new mac users like me, who are really annoyed by the voice over sound activated accidently, here are some more mac tips we have had written about before.

How to Pin a Program to Taskbar or Start Menu in Windows 7

Pinning a program to start menu or taskbar could be a good way to save time in windows 7 so that you can directly access these programs which you most often use more quickly. But if you pin the recently used programs shown in start menu to task bar they will get disappeared from start menu

So if you want to pin the most recently used program to both start menu and taskbar, make sure you first select to Pin to start menu and then right click the pinned item in start menu and then select Pin to Taskbar. Show A Hidden System Tray Icon In Windows 7

System tray icon has been taken quite seriously in windows 7, the windows 7 taskbar has been designed keeping in mind that system tray icons of the various third party applications should not occupy the task bar space. So, by default any program which has a system tray icon is hidden by default in windows 7 system tray.

In order to show a system tray icon in the task bar, here is how you can set it to show. Take your mouse over the arrow pointing vertically upwards, you can see the text saying show hidden icons

click the arrow pointing upwards on the windows 7 taskbar, and click the customize text.

After clicking customize it will open up action center where you can show the icon and notifications of a program [ as shown in the image below ]

For any program whom you want to show the system tray icon, select the option from the drop down saying Show icon and notifications and click ok button at the bottom.
